Types of NNSA Directives

  • Advance Change Directive (ACD) - Temporary directive the Administrator used to issue immediate direction to more than one NNSA organization.
  • Business Operating Procedures (BOPs) - Establish business procedures not covered in Supplemental Directives or NNSA Policies.
  • NNSA Policies (NAPs) - Establish policies, requirements, and responsibilities unique to NNSA that are traceable to parent requirements in laws, regulations, MOUs, or IAs, with the exception of requirements established by the Administrator under the authority of the NNSA Act. Focus on subject areas not covered by DOE directives or technical standards. 
  • Supplemental Directives (SD) - Augment policies, requirements, and responsibilities covered in DOE directives or technical standards.
